Savannah, GA - Maurine L. Carl Brown of Savannah GA, aged 88, died on January 29, 2013 at St. Joseph Nursing Center, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Mrs. Brown was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was survived by her children, Constance Hardy of Sunny Isles Beach FL, Teresa Hardy of Castro Valley CA, Michael Brown of Savannah GA, Maria Luna of Dallas TX, and Patrick Brown of Hobe Sound, FL. Ms. Brown was also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was a native of St. Anthony, Iowa, where she graduated from high school and played girls' basketball. She attended business college in Marshalltown, Iowa and was a sports writer for a local newspaper. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and had 20 years of service as a budget analyst with several Federal agencies and the Defense Department in the Washington DC area. Mrs. Brown retired to Savannah GA and enjoyed sports, cooking, and visiting her children and grandchildren. She attended St. James Church Catholic Church, Savannah GA, where she was an active volunteer.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10 AM at Saint James Catholic Church, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah GA. Inurnment will be immediately thereafter at Catholic Cemetery in Savannah.
